East Wall This niche to the left of the porch-entrance has an image of Indra, the dikpala of the east (identified by his vahana the elephant). On each side of this are images of Siva in various forms. On the left he is in the Bhikshatana form where he seduces the wives of rishis (right) while the enraged rishis themselves raise their arm to strike him (left). Above are animals of the forest including Parvati seated on Nandi.
