Base and Wall Panels
The wall panels here show Krishna and Radha. The upper row of the base panels here shows the opening scenes of the Ramayana with the deer-headed sage Rishyashringa performing the yajna for Dasaratha (extreme left). The following panels show subsequent events including Rama's departure for vanavasa and the breaking of Siva's bow by Rama (right of centre). Scenes in the panel below include an impressive panel with two boats facing each other (centre). Rasa-mandala medallions survive at the base of the wall pilasters here.
