Siva Temple
This unusual five-spired (pancha-ratna) Siva Temple was built in 1823 by Rani Bhuvan Mohini Devi. The five towers (ratnas) have star-shaped walls, arched jali windows and a projecting eave. The roof thus comprises a pancayatana with a large shrine at the centre and four smaller shrines at the corners. The tower of each roof-shrine is of the sekhari type, with rows of miniature spires. The cornice is not curved here, instead its straight eave is supported by decorative brackets. The temple is raised on a high plinth with a flight of steps leading up to its triple-arched entrance which leads to an arcaded passage around the sanctum. Hindu mythological stories were engraved on the walls of this passage of which only vestiges remain.
